Lewistown Paper 10-23-1987 Lewistown Montana, Fergus County Mae Donaldson, 89, died Friday morning at a Great Falls nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was born November 21, 1897, at Cambridge, IL, to James and Edith Crouch, and she received her schooling in IO. She later married George A. Donaldson on December 29, 1921 at Moorehead, MN. After their marriage, they moved to Denton and farmed east of there. After he husband died in 1966, Mrs. Donaldson moved into Denton and had lived there since that time. The past six years, she was living in and out of nursing homes. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a past president of Circle Peace, and was very involved with the Denton Community Methodist Church, WSCS, and the Denton Garden Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother. She is survived by one son, Duane Donaldson of Denton; two daughters, Marian Dacus of Denton and Doris Chamberlain of Helena; two sisters, Ethel Quinn of Sun City West, AZ, and Bess Stonner of Albany, CA, ; of brother frank Crouch of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday , October 27th at 2 p.m. at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel, Rev. Ron Kalpalka officiating. Interment will be at the Lewistown City Cemetery. Memorials to the Denton Ambulance Fund or to ones of your choice are preferred by the family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at the Creel-Morrison-Retz Chapel with Pastor Harold Dover officiating. Interment will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery. The casket will be open for friends from Saturday noon until time of the service and will not be open at the service. Donaldson was born October 15, 1901 in Taylor County, Iowa the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Donaldson. He received his education in Iowa. He came to the Denton area with his family in 1917 and farmed east of Denton since that time. On June 3,1929 he married Eleanor Gilkey. Survivors include his wife of Denton; two sons, Howard and Harold, both of Denton; one daughter, Mrs. Rusty (Phyllis) Senef of Utica: 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews..

Eleanor Donaldson 1988 Lewistown paper 1-25-1988 Eleanor Donaldson 77, a Denton resident since 1916 died Monday at the Central Montana Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born May 4 1910 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and came to the Denton area with her parents in 1916. She received her education in Denton schools, graduating from Denton High School in l929. On June 3, 1929, she was united in marriage to John Donaldson in Lewistown and they farmed east of Denton until his death in 1982. She continued to live on the farm until the time of her death. Mrs. Donaldson was a member of the Methodist Church and the Denton Ceramic Club She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Daniel and Kenneth, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rusty (Phyllis) Senef of Utica; two sons, Howard Donaldson and Harold Donaldson both of Denton; one brother, Harold Gilkey of Denton; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services for Eleanor Donaldson will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lewistown with Rev. Tim Hathaway and Rev. Ron Kapalka officiating. Interment will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery. Memorials to cancer research or diabetes research are preferred by the family and may be left at the funeral home. The Creel-Morrison-Retz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
